Episode 1: Who murdered Shannon Saville?

Updated: Mar 11

It was a hot summer day in July of 1985 in a quiet, upscale California neighborhood when a young mother was executed in her own home.

23-year-old Shannon Saville (née Cagle) had spent the day at work when she returned home to change clothes. She likely didn't see the killer coming before she was ambushed a few feet past her front door. Investigators have said the murderer tried to clean up some of the evidence.

However, they left one important clue behind. The shell casing from a .9mm handgun.

We have spent months working with Shannon's family and the Fresno County Sheriff's Office on this case as well as pulling public records and old news coverage. After nearly 40 years, we have uncovered new details and, for the first time, helped to establish a cash reward for evidence that leads to an arrest.

Do you recognize this man? He was seen in the rural neighborhood around the time of Shannon's murder.

Shannon's husband at the time of her murder, Tom Saville, has been named as a person of interest, in this case.
